Hi, I’m Drew Dowdell, and I built Apartmatic because I lived the problem.

For years I kept a big, messy binder stuffed with appliance manuals, receipts, and service invoices. There were no reminders for when to schedule maintenance or reorder parts. When an appliance warranty issue came up, I had to dig through documents from four years ago to find what I needed.

Then I had a small house fire. When the insurance company asked for an inventory of what was damaged, I had nothing—no organized records, no photos, no list of what I owned or what it was worth.

On top of that, I was a landlord managing several rental properties. Between tenant requests, maintenance coordination, and keeping track of everything across multiple buildings, the workload burned me out so badly that I ended up selling them all.

I kept thinking: there has to be a better way. Existing property management software was either built for massive commercial portfolios or was clunky, overpriced, and stuck in 2005. Nothing felt right for a homeowner, a self-managing landlord, or a small property manager who just wants things to work.

So I built Apartmatic—the tool I wish I’d had through all of it. It’s still early days, and I’m building it one feature at a time with real feedback from real users. If any of this sounds familiar, I’d love for you to join the beta and help shape what comes next.
